Topic: Narrating Stories Through the Power of Music
Description:
Join Calliope Brass as its seasoned musical adventurers lead your K-5 students through a journey that reveals the many mysteries of music. In a highly interactive, assembly-length event, students learn how sound is made, learn about the brass family of instruments, and learn concepts like major and minor keys, timbre, and range from the group’s creative adaptations of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.”
The Adventures conclude when all the pieces of the puzzle come together in an exciting mini-concert, and Calliope Brass works with the class to point out how the music can tell its own stories through characters, setting, and emotion.
Adventures in Brass is a great fit for the wide age range often gathered for assemblies. Even the shortest attention spans will remain engaged for the entire program.
